Rodale Institute - Midwest Organic Center

A Rodale Institute regional resource center with a 30-acre certified organic research farm located in Iowa, USA. Our primary research trial is a regenerative organic system that utilizes diverse row crop rotations, cover crops, and livestock integration in contrast to the typical corn-soybean rotation prevalent in the Midwest USA. We also conduct research on reducing tillage/black plastic mulch and biochar use in vegetable production. Our work hobby is seed saving in several small plots around the farm focused on growing grain amaranth and popcorn which give us an opportunity to talk about the importance of seed sovereignty, a concept our GMO loving neighbors don’t understand.
