Foundation Alica

The Alica Foundation was established in 2021 and is based in Banja Luka. The main goal is to encourage, develop, improve and promote the conservation and sustainable use of agrobiodiversity and traditional knowledge and practices based on knowledge and the development of agroecology in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Our mission is to strengthen sustainable family farming through agroecology as a holistic movement, practice and science, which strives for the conservation of agrobiodiversity, sustainable food systems and the development of local communities while ensuring livelihoods in harmony with nature through mutual benefits for people and nature.
Our vision is diverse, just and equitable food and agricultural systems based on food sovereignty and rooted in nature and culture. Food sovereignty is the human right to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through environmentally sound and sustainable methods, and the right of people to define their own food and agricultural systems.
